Project Information
The Combined Cycle Gas Turbine
The proposed CCGT power station will use natural gas to generate up to 1500MW of electricity. By using natural gas to produce electricity the proposed CCGT power plant will be highly efficient and will produce significantly lower emissions than traditional fossil fuel power plants.
Modern CCGT power stations are substantially smaller in size, require less space and have less of a visual impact than traditional fossil fuel power plants.
Indicative site layouts for two possible power station designs are shown below.
Depending on the technology, it is expected that the three unit design will generate approximately 1,500MW of electricty, while the two unit design will generate between 1,000MW and 1,500MW of electricity.
